No, this used mug was not made in '39 when the Wizard of Oz was, and honestly, we are not entirely sure when the mug itself was manufactured.
As far as the mug goes, don't let the shadows from the lighting dissuade you -- those are not stains -- just shadows! The cup actually has no coffee or tea stains at all. We do, however, want to make you aware that there are three very minor chips near the bottom of the mug on the side with the flying monkey.
They are barely noticeable, but look at it this way: If you're right-handed, you'll never see them (assuming you use the handle when drinking)! Regardless, check out the photos!
