Andres Gimenez 2023 MLB Cleveland Guardians Bobblehead SGA by BD&A
On June 24, 2023, at home versus the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cleveland Guardians honored Andres Gimenez with a bobblehead giveaway. It ended up being a strange experience (we can't speak for everyone as we were only in one section of the ballpark) because upon arrival there were many (some irate) folks wanting to exchange their bobbleheads. You will note that with this particular bobble, the player's right arm is raised to throw and is very close to the helmet.
We are not sure what the manufacturing issue was, but the problem (a packaging issue) became clear when we opened our bobble. There were two oversized pieces of Styrofoam mashed in with the bobble -- one between the molded plastic shell behind the arm and then a second piece wedged between the arm and the batting helmet.
The guess here is that at the plant in China, there might have been some problems with the arm coming in contact with the helmet causing damage and/or the arm to break because apparently a second piece of styrofoam was then added at the plant. This may have compounded the problem more than fixing it. (Some folks at the game were claiming their bobble was broken and were demanding replacement). Anyway, not only did this second piece of styrofoam increase the likelihood of a breakage problem from the added stress from the extra styrofoam, it distorted the plastic shell and it was almost impossible to close the box (although somehow, they managed). When we got home from the game, we alleviated the stress by using very thin styrofoam and wrapping it around the arm to provide a cushion between the arm and the helmet, and it's all good now. However, if the condition of the shell is critical to you, this shell -- close to the player's head -- is permanently distorted (see photo).
We wonder what management did to quell the angry mob at the game!

Welcome aboard! We're delighted you stopped in. But first, a brief history lesson:
We began with a single store -- Jeff's Vintage Treasure in 2018 -- with Shopify and sold mostly vintage sports products. Because some customers wanted newer items as well, that same year we added a second web site
-- Jeff's Treasure Chest -- to the mix.
The second store did well, and we became obsessed with other "niche" stores and began to accumulate inventory for them. The desire to add these other options led us to the decision in 2022 to eventually consolidate everything under one roof, which also resulted in the new name. You'll notice some of them on our home page, and that's only about half of what we have planned (unless we come to our
senses first).
It will probably take quite a while to list everything we have, so check back often, and we're always open to
suggestions -- really!
As far as store operations go, some key points:
1) Shipping: Right now, it's U.S. only. Unless it's the holidays, or a weather situation (as we recently experienced) we always try to ship within 24 hours, but we officially ask for a 2-day window.
2) Returns: Our policy is we don't accept returns, and here's why: In the six years when running both of our original stores, we had 2 -- count 'em, 2 -- returns: One was for a Oakland A's hat that was tagged "adult" butt turned out to be a youth, and we also shipped a model St. Louis Cardinals T-Bird instead of a nearly identical Indians model... yep, that one was our mistake. The point being that to date there has not been a single complaint over the quality of what we sell. And with people getting what seems to be an "Amazon" mentality when it comes to unlimited returns, we really don't want to travel down that road. However, know that if you have an issue with anything we sell, let us know and we'll do our best to make it right. Fair enough? (See our Policy and/or Contact Pages in the footer at the bottom of any page for more detailed information).
Enjoy your visit!
